A new live tracker converting official statistics into a real-time visualisation of mass immigration into Australia has been launched by a right-wing campaign group.
Revive Australia unveiled its Migration Tracker on Monday, and said it was intended to give Australians a live view of the size and scale of migration into the country.
The tracker uses Australian Bureau of Statistics figures for the 2025 calendar year, when there was net overseas migration of 301,000 people – more than the population of Hobart – and 563,500 immigrant arrivals.
A timer shows one immigrant arriving every 56 seconds, another widget shows the number of arrivals during the day so far, the monthly arrivals, net population added for each day, and the net population added for the year so far.
Director Brian Marlow said the tracker would remain live and be updated as new official statistics are released, in order to help Australians visualise the scale of the country’s immigration program.
“Hundreds of thousands of people added every year can become an abstract statistic. The Migration Tracker shows you what those annual figures actually mean as the year unfolds,” he said.
“Australia needs breathing room. Housing, infrastructure and essential services are under enormous pressure, while migration continues to add hundreds of thousands of people to the country.”
Mr Marlow said Revive Australia was calling for a “blanket net negative migration policy”, meaning more departures than arrivals, and wanted it to become a national policy objective.
The tracker also includes a display showing temporary visas far outnumber the permanent migration intake, and that international students make up the largest single arrival group.
More than 2.5 million immigrants have arrived in Australia since Labor was elected in May 2022, with net overseas migration since then sitting at about 1.6 million.
Similar interactive websites have been created in recent weeks showing changes in the global White population, and in the European population of New Zealand.
