Another four males have been charged with murder over the death of a young Kenyan refugee in an alleged African gang fight outside an Airbnb party in Logan, Queensland.
Jongkuch Peter Kur Jongkuch Achieu, 21, was found with severe head injuries on Orchard Avenue in Bahrs Scrub after the brawl between two rival African gangs erupted at about 2.15am on July 27 on nearby Discovery Boulevard.
Queensland Police said at the time a group of African males armed with knives got out of a car and gatecrashed the party being held inside the Airbnb property, sparking a violent clash where furniture was used as weapons and several cars had their windscreens smashed.
Five African men were arrested and charged on Thursday, four with murder, and police on Sunday charged four more suspects with murder, following more than 80 police raids in Logan, South Brisbane and Ipswich.

Morad George, 18, Jason Marik, 18, and Benito Bikanye, 18, were all remanded in custody after facing Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, and a 17-year-old male who cannot be named for legal reasons was also remanded after his case was heard by a children’s court, The Courier Mail reported.
Logan Crime Group Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said police would allege the group armed themselves with weapons before travelling to Bahrs Scrub “for the common purpose of causing harm to people” at the party.
On Friday the first four men charged with murder – Joshua Jackson John Jirima, 18, Amnaud Nduwayo, 19, Kandour Khalil Tagelsir, 18, and Sunday Obol, 19 – were all remanded in custody in the same court.
Obol has also been charged with unlawful stalking, intimidation, harassing or abuse, robbery whilst armed/pretending to be armed or in company or wounded, extortion and deprivation of liberty.
A fifth man, Lasender Sheriff, 22, had a murder charge formally withdrawn, but was charged with contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, and did not apply for bail as he was on a return-to-prison warrant.
The men are allegedly members of a gang called Southside Drillers.
Achieu, a refugee from Redbank Plains, was given CPR at the scene and rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, but died on the weekend, and his loss was mourned by a local community group on social media.
Det Insp Galpin described the alleged clash as an “all-out brawl”, and confirmed that the partygoers and both groups involved in the clash were African.
“Both parties, the initial group and the second group that arrived, are both of African descent,” he said.
“There seem to be two distinct groups who came into conflict with one another.”
He also confirmed that multiple knives were found at the scene, pieces of furniture were used as weapons, and several other people suffered stab wounds, but said he could not comment on whether Achieu was known to police.
