A knifeman is on the run in Melbourne after a man was stabbed to death and another was wounded during a suspected fight between a homeless man and food delivery riders in the city’s central business district.
Victoria Police said the first victim, who is yet to be identified, was found with stab wounds on Fredrick Way just before 8.10pm on Friday, and although CPR was performed he was declared deceased at the scene.
Shortly afterwards, a second man, aged in his 30s, was found nearby with non-life-threatening injuries, and a crime scene was set up between Queen Street and A’Beckett Street.
One man has been killed and another injured in a stabbing attack in Melbourne’s CBD tonight.
The knifeman is still on the run, and a large area has been cordoned off by police.

No arrests have been made, but police are understood to be looking for a dark-haired suspect, possibly of Asian appearance, holding a knife.
10 News reporter Rebekah Powell, who shared video of police at the scene, said an argument is believed to have erupted after a homeless man knocked over a delivery rider’s bike, ending in the fatal stabbing.
Footage of the scene shows the streets cordoned off, and members of the public told Noticer News they were unable to get to their cars and drive home.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating whether the incident was targeted.
