A group of German high school students have been raided by their woke local police force in relation to a schoolyard racial insult which didn’t even involve them.
The seven students, aged 15 to 17 and from private business school Pasold-Weissauer in Holzkirchen, a small town in the state of Bavaria, are accused of making “anti-constitutional verbal and physical statements”, and face up to five years’ jail if convicted.
Police began investigating an incident at the school on July 2 in which sixth-graders allegedly called a classmate the German equivalent of the N-word, after receiving a report from the boy’s mother.
But because the sixth-graders are too young to be held criminally responsible under German law, the police launched an investigation into the older teenagers for allegedly teaching the words and gestures to the younger students, Rosenheim24 reported.
“One of [the younger students] stated in the hearing that he had only copied what students from older years had demonstrated,” the chief of the Holzkirchen Police Inspectorate Christian Gollwitzer said.
“That made us prick up our ears.”
The police then identified a core group of seven students who allegedly gave Hitler salutes and insulted foreigners.
After the Munich District Court issued warrants, the police raided the students’ parents’ apartments in the districts of Munich and Miesbach on July 22 on suspicion of “using signs of unconstitutional and terrorist organisations” as well as other possible violations.
Electronic devices, mobile phones and storage media were confiscated, the Police Headquarters of Upper Bavaria South announced.
The police operation came after the school had already held several woke initiatives, including a “Democracy Day – Time for Civil Courage” lecture, and a police youth officer visiting the school.
“It is important to accompany the other students as well and to call on them to have civil courage,” the chief of the Holzkirchen Police Inspectorate said.
“Such statements must never again become socially acceptable or ‘cool’. We as a society, as the police and the rule of law must show a clear line and put up a stop sign.”
The German government is notorious for its draconian laws against political expression and association, and has gone so far as to consider banning the AFD, a right-wing party, which captured 20% of the country’s votes and won 152 seats in the German parliament, making it the second-largest party in the country.
