Police are searching for a man of Indian appearance in a white turban after an elderly woman was sexually assaulted in her own home in Traralgon, Victoria, last week.
Victoria Police said a man showed up at the 69-year-old victim’s home on Elliott Street at about 7pm on February 11.
The man, known only as “Jaz”, often walked up and down the street and had befriended the woman, who invited him into the residence, police said.
But once inside he made unwanted physical advances towards the woman, grabbed her, attempted to kiss her, and bit her on the cheek, leaving her with bruising that did not require medical treatment.
He then left the home and the attack was reported to police.
Central Gippsland Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are now appealing for public assistance, and on Thursday released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
“He is perceived to be of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, aged in his 60s, approximately 182cm tall with a short grey beard,” police said.
“He was wearing a white turban, orange t-shirt, beige trousers and brown leather sandals.”
