Pauline Hanson promises to scrap ‘hate speech’ laws at anti-immigration rally

Woman in a plaid shirt speaks into a handheld microphone on an outdoor stage at a rally, with a crowd and Australian flags behind her.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has vowed to scrap Australia’s “hate speech” laws while speaking at an anti-immigration protest in Canberra.

The Queensland senator took the stage just after 12pm on Sunday in front of hundreds of demonstrators at the Rally to End Mass Immigration on the lawns outside Parliament House.

During her speech she also said she was “not against migration”, only “mass migration”, Australia should only take “the right people who want to assimilate”, and “aboriginal departments” should be removed.

“If we get the numbers, we will repeal those ‘hate speech’ laws. We have a lot of work to do, but you, the people, must make sure you make your vote count at the ballot box and don’t keep returning these idiots,” she said, 7News reported.

“You have a right to have a voice, you have the right to have an opinion, and make sure that you use that, otherwise, these governments around the country will suppress you as much as they can.”

Ms Hanson was clapped and cheered by the crowd, who wore and waved Australian flags and a sign saying “net zero Islam”, but at one point a heckler yelled out “what about the chemtrails?” and “Pauline, what are you going to do about geo-engineering?” and pointed at the sky.

Ms Hanson made similar comments in February in an interview with rally organiser Scott Challen from the Australian Lobby Group, telling him One Nation would repeal a raft of new laws passed by Labor in the wake of the Bondi Islamic terror attack along with all other “hate speech” legislation.

Nationals leader Matt Canavan also spoke at the rally, telling the crowd “net zero is just another word for socialism” and “if you don’t share our values, you are getting deported”, but faced calls from the crowd to “go a bit harder”.
