New Zealand patriots will hold a protest against mass immigration during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit.
Mr Modi is making his first official visit to New Zealand this weekend, arriving late on Friday before being officially welcomed by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Saturday morning.
After a meeting with business leaders, Mr Modi will appear at Auckland’s Spark Arena for a Kia Ora Modi event, which Indian community leaders say will be attended by more than 10,000 people, and fly out late in the evening.

Remigration New Zealand activists announced on Thursday they would be holding a protest at the event at 3.30pm on Saturday, and shared a flyer showing Mr Modi offering Mr Luxon a bowl of curry and stating “you will not prevail”.
“This event will be attended by thousands from the Indian diaspora and is a celebration of the invasion of New Zealand and the replacement of the New Zealand population with Indians,” the group wrote on social media.
“We call upon all patriots to attend this protest to oppose mass immigration and support the reversal of it through remigration. Remigration NOW.”
Earlier this week Mr Luxon called Mr Modi’s visit “historic”, and said it would “unlock new opportunities” after the two countries signed a controversial Free Trade Agreement in April.
The Indian leaders visit comes amid rising concerns about mass immigration and the growing influence of ethnic and religious voting blocs on political parties and the police.
Christian leader Brain Tamaki, who has also spoken out against Mr Modi’s visit, had his hunting rifles confiscated by police after saying in a video that New Zealand should be “purged” of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs, and a woman was tracked down by officers over a social media post that read “welcome to New India”.
In May members of the pro-remigration group behind this weekend’s protest were raided by police over a peaceful demonstration outside the New Zealand Indian Central Association in Auckland earlier this year.
