Two knife-wielding Middle Eastern men are still at large more than a month after a disturbing broad daylight robbery in Melbourne.
Victoria Police on Thursday appealed for public assistance identifying the two offenders, who demanded a man’s motorbike and mobile phone at knifepoint in St Kilda at about 10.40am on Sunday March 23.
One of the men was walking a chestnut-coloured Staffordshire Terrier puppy on a lead when they approached the man on Greeves St. One then drew a knife and lunged at the victim, police said.
The victim ran away on foot and attempted to flag down passing cars for help, while the offenders walked down Greeves Street and turned right onto Vale Street.
Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released an image of two men they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
“The first man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, wearing all black and a balaclava,” police said.
“The second man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, wearing a tan/brown hoodie, black pants and white shoes.”
