Two homosexual men from Nashville have sparked fury by posting a video of themselves laughing at their surrogate baby for crying for his mother.
The clip, shared by American country music singer Shane McAnally on Instagram, shows his partner Michael Baum bouncing the infant on his lap and asking him “Who do you want? Dada or Pop?”
The baby boy tries to say “Mama” and then bursts into tears after Baum says “there is no Mama”, while McAnally laughs in the background.
The top comments on the video are overwhelmingly critical of the gay couple, with many saying homosexuals should not be allowed to adopt or buy surrogate babies.
“This is why it’s important to remember that it’s a child’s right to have parents – and not a adult’s right to have children,” one person wrote.
“This is so heartbreaking, to hear a baby cry out for its mother. That is such an innate, biological desire that no man can replace … this has me reconsidering adoptions at certain ages… babies need a mom and dad,” said another.
“Babies are not accessories to your life. A baby needs mother and a father,” a third wrote.
Another commenter said: “Yeah, I’d prefer to live under Christian Nationalism where we don’t have to live like this, actually. Anyone with a conscience knows this is wrong.”
The clip also generated anger on X, where political commentator Michael Knowles wrote: “The most horrifying video I’ve ever seen in my life.”

But others pointed out that many American “conservative” figures, including Libs of TikTok, Megyn Kelly, Christopher Rufo and Joel Pollak congratulated homosexual talk show host Dave Rubin and his sex partner bought their own surrogate child.
McAnally also has a pinned video on his Instagram titled “6 week homophobic baby” showing the boy making a face when he says “you have two dads”, and another one of the baby crying with the caption “we just told him he has two dads”.
The pair previously adopted 12-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, and last year McAnally, 51, told People he was determined to have a surrogate baby at his age because he doesn’t let “the rules” dictate his life.
“I know things are changing all the time. And of course, since ours is a non-traditional family anyway, we don’t feel like those rules apply,” he said.
