Aussie hailed as hero after helping cops arrest African suspect outside KFC

An Australian man has been hailed as a hero after recounting how he helped police arrest an African suspect they were chasing down a street near a KFC.

The good Samaritan shared photos of the man, who appears to be Somalian, being handcuffed by Western Australia Police officers outside the fried chicken chain.

In the caption he jokingly described the man as an “engineer”, which is a reference to a popular anti-immigration meme, and as “one of the Labor government’s much-needed skilled workers”.

“He was busy giving the WA Police a practical lesson in sprint training, and for a while they were having a bit of trouble catching him. I happened to be in the right place at the right time. Turns out his skills don’t extend to teleporting through American trucks,” he wrote.

“Once WA Police collected him from the ground, apparently his talents extended well beyond running. Among the items allegedly in his possession were things that suggested quite the diverse resume – apparently engineering wasn’t his only field of expertise.”

The man also said the door to his Ford F-150 now had a dent in it.

His post attracted thousands of comments, with the vast majority either praising him for helping and for his witty caption, or criticising the government over mass third world immigration.

“Send him to the Lodge to stay a few days with Albo,” said one.

“Sad to see what’s happening. As an ex cop I can assure you 30 years ago this usual suspect would have been educated very quickly in what is and what is not acceptable behaviour in Australia, as opposed to deepest darkest Africa!” wrote another.

“Good on you. Now we need a judge to do the right thing and deport him,” a third wrote.
