A man has been arrested over a horrific alleged early morning rape of a teenage girl in Brisbane’s CBD last month.
William Roderick Row Row, 49, was arrested on June 5 and charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault over the alleged May 2 attack.
Queensland Police allege Row Row assaulted the girl, a stranger, between 3am and 4.50am in the vicinity of Turbot Street and Wickham Terrace near Central Station.
The alleged attack was reported to police later that day, and detectives arrested Row Row in his home suburb of Riverview after a month-long investigation.
Row Row was remanded in custody and will face Brisbane Magistrates Court again on June 15.
Police are now asking two potential witnesses, who are not alleged to be involved in the alleged incident, to come forward, and have released CCTV footage in the hopes of identifying them.
“The first person is described as a male wearing cream-coloured pants with a black jumper. He was last seen at 4.40am on Wickham Terrace, near Central Station,” police said.
“The second person is described as a male wearing white shoes, and a white, black and blue jumper with a black cap. He was last seen at 2.57am on Adelaide Street in Brisbane City.”
