The son for a former Mongols bikie boss has allegedly been murdered after being abducted from his Melbourne home by a gang of men armed with machetes.
Patrick Longordo, 30, whose father was a chapter president of the outlaw motorcycle gang, was found dead in Parkland near Bruny Drive in Tarneit at about 4.30am on Friday morning.
Police said a number of male offenders forced entry to a home on Darius Terrace in South Morang after arriving in a dark-coloured vehicle, assaulted Mr Longordo, and dragged him out of the house and into the car.
Another man and two children inside the home at the time were not physically hurt.
A former friend of Mr Longordo told the Herald Sun he did not believe the alleged murder was linked to bikie gangs.
“He was a good kid and a good bloke,” he said.
“Did they mean to kill him? I’m not too sure. It definitely was not bikie related though.”
Victoria Police Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said bikie links were being investigated in relation to what detectives believe was a targeted attack, and confirmed Mr Longordo was known to police.
“We keep an open mind with everything, it’s very early in the investigation,” he said, adding that police were yet to determine where Mr Longordo was killed.
“We will piece it together … but we do require information from the public to help us with that.
“It appears at this point in time that the offending was somewhat targeted. To be in your house and to have something like this happen is very, very frightening.”
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
