An African knifeman is on the run in Melbourne after stabbing his sister and cousin and ramming a home with a stolen car.
The suspect fled on foot after the second stabbing, which took place after he deliberately drove a silver Honda CRV into a house on Exner Street in Dandenong North at about 10.15am on Sunday morning.
He is described as being of African appearance and was last seen wearing a brown shirt and black pants.
The female victim, 34, is understood to be the man’s sister, 9News reported. The offender’s mother witnessed the attack and was seen being consoled by neighbours at the scene.
Victoria Police believe he first stabbed another man, 40, believed to be his cousin, in Epping at 7.30am, and believe both incidents were targeted.
Both victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for help tracking down that man, but have warned members of the public not to approach him and call Triple-Zero if they see him.
Southern Metro Region Inspector Graham Higginbotham said the suspect was known to police.
“We are aware of the male’s identity and are in the process of looking for this male,” he said.
“We don’t know if the offender is armed in any way, but we are treating that person as potentially being armed and exercising caution in respect of our search.”
