Two African teenagers have been stabbed during a wild brawl involving 70 people which erupted at a party in an Airbnb in Sydney’s southwest.
NSW Police said they arrived at a home on Zephyr Street in Austral at about 12.05am on Sunday after reports two men were assaulted, and found a large number of people gathering but no sign of the injured males.
Officers were then called to Browns Road where they found a male with stab wounds to his torso sitting in a vehicle, while at the same time other officers located second male on Fletcher Street in Middleton Grange with stab wounds to his thigh.
Both men, of African appearance and aged 17 and 19, were taken to hospital in a stable condition.
They are believed to have been guests at a birthday party being held at the short-term rental, and were stabbed when gate-crashers turned up and sparked the fight between about 70 people, 9News reported.
CCTV video shows the two victims stumbling in the street after being knifed, and separate footage of the moment police arrived at the Airbnb shows an African woman being tackled by an officer while another cops pepper sprays a group of males.
“I’d probably describe it as a war,” a shocked neighbour said.
Police seized multiple knives from the scene and surrounding streets, but no arrests have been made.
The event was hosted in an Airbnb property than bans parties and is described as a “relaxing family getaway”, and while invites were not public they ended up being shared on social media.
The Airbnb host said the guests had asked for security cameras to be switched off before they arrived.
