An OnlyFans prostitute who made videos of herself physically abusing her baby daughter has been spared jail after a Queensland judge found she had completed parenting courses.
The woman, who is aged in her 30s and cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty in March to two counts of making child exploitation material, two counts of common assault, and one count of distributing child exploitation material, and faced Brisbane District Court on Friday for sentencing.
The court heard the mother made two videos showing her “pretending” to hurt the three-month-old baby, and sent them to the girl’s father in an attempt to “manipulate” him and make him come back to her.
But Judge Dzenita Balić found after viewing the viewing the videos that the woman did hurt the infant by grabbing her by the neck “aggressively” and throwing her on a bed, The Courier Mail reported.
The woman, whose relationship with the baby’s father involved domestic violence, lost custody of her daughter after making the videos in November 2022 and February 2023, and has since sought mental health treatment, the court heard.
A psychologist found she potentially suffered from PTSD and a major depressive disorder, but said she was a low risk of reoffending.
Judge Balić said in sentencing the woman was “clearly unwell” and that her abuse of the child was “completely unnecessary”, but also said the offending was “born out of complex circumstances” and noted her criminal history did not include similar offences.
The abusive mother, who has been out on bail, had also completed parenting courses and was motivated to regain contact with her daughter, Judge Balić told the court while sentencing her to 18 months’ jail with immediate parole.
Judge Balić, who in February sentenced a Sudanese refugee to just two years’ prison for rape and called him a “wonderful young man”, also said that although the offences were not sexual the conviction meant the woman would be made a reportable offender.
At the time of her arrest the woman had tens of thousands of followers on TikTok, and sold herself to 2,000 followers on pornographic subscription site OnlyFans.
