Police allege a Vietnamese organised crime syndicate was behind an alleged plot to kill a man at a southwest Sydney childcare centre, the latest in a series of horrific Asian gang attacks.
Heavily armed NSW Police officers arrested two aboriginals and a Pacific Islander – Greall Tighe, 18, Kevin Mundine, 19, and Tyrone Tuiluga Rio, 26 – in two car stops on The River Road in Revesby on Tuesday, and police alleged on Wednesday they were en route to carry out a murder.
Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook said the intended victim “has links to crime and… was targeted due to what we think was a breakdown in the transnational organised crime network”, and that the three alleged gunmen were hired to carry out the hit.

Cook said the same crime gang had been involved in “multiple conspiracies to murder”.
After the arrests police searched two “kill cars”, a Mitsubishi Outlander and a black Mercedes sedan, and allegedly seized two firearms, balaclavas, body worn cameras, and jerry cans containing fuel.
A third gun was allegedly found during more searches of other cars and premises allegedly linked to the men.
All three were taken to Bankstown Police station and refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.

Tighe and Mundine were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, possess unauthorised pistol, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, participate in a criminal group and breach of bail.
Tuiluga Rio was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and participate in a criminal group.
Tighe was controversially released on bail earlier this year on 17 charges related to an alleged car theft, break-and-enter and home invasion rampage across Sydney in January.
The alleged murder plot comes after a number of violent incidents involving Vietnamese organised crime in Sydney, including the alleged abduction and murder of a mother from Bankstown in April, and a six-day alleged murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and torture spree last year.
