Popular history YouTuber Zoomer Historian has been banned from the platform without warning in what appears to be a case of politically motivated Big Tech censorship.
The British content creator, who has a young family, revealed on X on Monday he was moving house when he was notified that his channel, which had 270,000 subscribers, had been banned for “hate speech” even though every one of his videos was manually reviewed by YouTube and accepted for full monetisation.
“Your channel, Zoomer Historian, wasn’t following our policy on Hate speech (sic). We removed it to protect our community,” the channel removal notice stated.
Hello everyone, so, to the elephant in the room!
A couple days ago whilst I was in the process of moving house I quickly checked my phone and saw that my account had been banned for ‘Hate Speech’. Previously all of my videos had been manually reviewed by YouTube and accepted for… pic.twitter.com/RbMxpcw0hZ

Zoomer Historian, who spent 10 hours a day making videos on topics including the Second World War, Rhodesia and the Spanish Civil War as his full-time job, has appealed but is not optimistic about having his account restored.
He told Noticer News he believes the ban was “purely political” and related to him expressing his right-wing views on other platforms, as he never had a video removed or discussed politics on YouTube.
“It’s clearly political since all of my videos were monetised manually by YouTube themselves. Only a few days after my ban did I see that the ADL had met with YouTube in the wake of the Fuentes/Carlson interview, I can’t see any other explanation,” he said.
“I haven’t got a bad word to say about YouTube in the slightest when it comes to their treatment of me. Every video was monetised, every copyright issue was solved in my favour without issue, zero strikes, zero warnings, zero videos flagged. Worked smoothly, no problems at all until now.”
He also spoke out about tech censorship, saying “it’s best for everyone if there is total free speech”.
“We’re right and that’s why we’re censored. It all needs to go. These sites need free speech,” he said.
Zoomer Historian said he hoped his review would be successful, but was now uploading his videos to free speech platform Rumble, would be posting regularly on Substack, and streaming twice a week.
He also started a “Zoomer ban survival fund” where his subscribers can donate, writing on X: “If you have enjoyed my content in the past and have ever thought out becoming a member or donating then please do take a look … to be completely honest I need it right now and I can’t put how much I appreciate it into words.”
