Two black males arrested over horrific mass stabbing on UK train that left 10 injured

Two men have been arrested after a horrific knife attack on a commuter train in Britain left 10 people injured, and an eyewitness said he saw a black male dressed in black waving a large knife before being Tasered by police and detained.

Police said they received emergency calls at about 7.40pm on Saturday from passengers on the train from Doncaster to London’s Kings Cross, which then made an unscheduled stop at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where dozens of paramedics and armed officers were waiting.

British Transport Police later confirmed nine of the ten people wounded suffered life-threatening injuries, and said “Counter Terrorism Policing are supporting our investigation whilst we work to establish the full circumstances and motivation for this incident”.

Officers responding to the attack used the UK code word for a “marauding terror attack” – Plato – but the declaration was later rescinded and late on Saturday police said they were treating the mass stabbing as a “major incident”.

On Sunday morning they confirmed that the two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder were a “32-year-old black British male and 35-year-old British national of Caribbean descent”.

An eyewitness told Sky News he saw a black male waving a large knife being arrested after the attack.

“The armed police were pointing to the suspect, as we come off the train I asked what that suspect looked like, they said it’s a black male in all black, so a black hoodie,” he said.

“And then at the back of the station, walking calmly as the police were coming through, armed police, I said ‘I think that’s the guy’ and essentially as they got closer to him they started shouting ‘get down, get down’, he then was waving a knife, a large knife.

“And then they detained him, I think it was a Taser that got him down in the end.”

Passengers said the stabbing started about 10 minutes after the train left Peterborough, and on witness told the BBC the attack lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Olly Foster said on X he saw an older man blocking the attacker from stabbing a younger girl and being left with head and neck wounds, and said train seats were left covered in blood.

“I only know of one attacker, he got on the train from Peterborough. He was black mid 20s. We ran from the back of the train to the end as everyone was screaming to run, explaining there was somebody stabbing everyone and everything,” he wrote.

He was later interviewed by the BBC who did not ask him what the attacker looked like.

Another witness told The Sun: “There was blood everywhere, it was a terrible scene, really violent. It was like something from a film. It didn’t feel real and just sparked pure panic onboard.”

UK Home Secretary wrote on X she was “deeply saddened to hear about the stabbings” and said she was getting regular updates.

“I urge people to avoid comment and speculation at this early stage,” she said.

The attack comes just days after an Afghan illegal immigrant stabbed three people in Uxbridge, London, killing 49-year-old local resident Wayne Broadhurst who was out walking his dog.
