A South Australia Police officer is on paid leave after being charged with a series of offences.
The Western District officer was arrested by detectives from the South Australia Police Anti-Corruption Section on Wednesday, following a “lengthy investigation”, police said.
The officer was charged with one count of abuse of public office, one count of aggravated stalking and two counts of aggravated assault.
The matter will be heard in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on September 10, and the officer has been suspended with pay.
“As the matter is before the courts, no further comment will be made,” police said in a statement.
