Snitch journalism at the Sydney Morning Herald

Media Shame File

Outlet: The Sydney Morning Herald

Headline: The far-right figures teaching students at a Sydney college

Summary: Far-left activist Nine Newspapers journalists tried to destroy the careers of two academics yesterday, for the crime of… defending the interests of Australia’s founding stock.

The Sydney Morning Herald is, of course, happy for the rights of any other group to be promoted and defended, but if you speak up for White people, even if you avoid the word “White” like Stephen Chavura does, then the knives are out.

We won’t bother rehashing the article, which has been well and truly torn apart by critics, energised right-wing twitter, and failed in its objectives. It’s also been great to see big names on the right side of politics – Malcolm Roberts, George Christensen, John Ruddick, Craig Kelly, Alex Antic and Mark Latham (apologies if we missed any) – speak out to defend Chavura and Dr Stephen McInerney.

What we want to talk about here is “snitch journalism”, which we have mentioned several times before in Media Shame File entries.

Snitch journalism is when leftist activist journalists (who dominate the Australian corporate and state media) go beyond reporting the news, and venture into creating it, in order to try to ruin the lives of right-wingers. And that is not hyperbole – when you go after the job and career of a man with a family and a mortgage, he could end up losing everything.

The reporters do this by “going for comment”, which gives them cover as this is standard and ethical behaviour, and required by most newsroom codes of conduct. Journalists are supposed to go to the people/organisations they are writing about to give them a right of reply, and to make sure their stories are balanced and gives fair treatment to both/all sides.

But at some point leftist activists realised they could use going for comment as a tactic to cancel people with opinions they don’t like, and for the past decade or so it has been very effective, mainly due to the weakness and cowardice of conservatives, who tend to fold at the first sniff of negative media coverage.

It’s been so successful, and gone so unchallenged by the right, that journalists openly brag about doing it (see key quote), and fall over themselves trying to take credit for the effect their articles had before they were even published. It’s despicable behaviour.

In recent months alone Australian journalists have used it to get online fundraisers taken down, the ABC used it on us to try to get us demonetised as part of their hit piece on us, and the Herald Sun even used it to get a legal book confiscated from Thomas Sewell.

And don’t think they’ll draw the line at Thomas Sewell, they’ll do it to you too – we know from Charlie Kirk’s murder, and this SMH article, that the far-left don’t care how moderate you are – to them we’re all Nazis who need to be destroyed.

It should also be noted that snitch journalism is about as un-Australian as it gets. Dobbers kissed robbers and wore nappies in school playgrounds when they were full of White Australians, and dogs are the lowest of the low in jail, but that too may be changing thanks to mass immigration.

We know snitch journalism isn’t going away any time soon, but we hope that as more people become aware of how leftist journalists operate they will stop letting them win.

You don’t negotiate with terrorists, you don’t pay ransoms, and you don’t cancel your own side because some snivelling self-hating scribbler sent you an email.

The correct response is to refuse to fold on principle. You cannot give them a scalp, no matter what.

When a snitch journalist tries to get someone cancelled, you are honour-bound to support and defend them.

Remember this and act accordingly.

Key quote: “Following questions from this masthead, Campion College is now investigating the academics who argue that Australia’s Anglo-European culture is under existential threat”
