Disturbing CCTV footage shows an African Uber driver allegedly attacking a female supermarket worker in inner-city Perth in broad daylight.
In the video, obtained by ABC News, the man can be seen kicking the young woman to the ground and appearing to stand over her and verbally abuse her as she was handing him bags of groceries.
The alleged attack happened on July 15, and has left the worker, who is aged in her early 20s, so terrified she did not want to be named or show her face, and her mother said the incident was a “real concern” for female safety.

“To be in that situation was quite clearly terrifying,” she said.
The young woman said the driver attacked her after she asked him to separate the delivery orders and said she was “so scared, like, terrified”.
She said her employer asked Uber to ban the driver, and the rideshare giant told ABC News they were investigating the incident, and had apologised to the young worker.
“Uber does not tolerate any form of violence on the platform,” Uber said in a statement.
“All driver partners and delivery people are required to pass a criminal check in accordance with each state’s regulations before being eligible to receive trip or order requests.
“Our Community Guidelines clearly set out the rules that we expect all users to follow, and a breach of these guidelines can result in loss of access to the Uber app.”
A 27-year-old man from Beckenham has been charged with assaulting a retail worker and making a threat, and will face court next month.
