A former police officer from western Sydney has been released on bail after being charged with child sex offences allegedly committed against a young girl known to him.
NSW Police said the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad began an investigation in July last year into a report a girl then aged six and seven was assaulted by a man she knew between 2015 and 2017.
A 46-year-old then attended Blacktown Police Station on Monday where he was arrested and charged with three counts of indecent assault person under 16 years of age.
The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on January 28.
