Update 19/11: A male, 13, was arrested at a home in East Maitland and charged with “aggravated sexual assault – inflict actual bodily harm on victim”, “sexually touch another person without consent”, and “incite another to sexually touch them without consent”.
A woman in her 80s has been taken to hospital after allegedly being raped in a park in Maitland, New South Wales, by a “dark-skinned” teenager.
The woman was walking in Brooklyn Park at Ashtonfield, at about 7:20pm on Monday when she was knocked to the ground by a male who allegedly sexually assaulted her, NSW Police said.
The male then left the park on a scooter, and the woman called a family member who contacted police before being taken to hospital for treatment.
The State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad under Strike Force Bosgar are now investigating the attack and released a description of the suspect.
“He is described as being aged mid-to-late teens and having a dark complexion, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts. He left the scene on a push scooter,” police said.
