Greenland belongs to the strongest

If Donald Trump takes Greenland, and Denmark can’t stop him, then they didn’t deserve to keep it.

As the recent US capture of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro illustrates, the only “rules” that matter are those made by the powerful, for only they can be enforced.

Will Denmark fight to keep Greenland? Will they do whatever it takes to hold onto it? Will they risk war and annihilation? Obviously not, so what right, therefore, do the Danes have to it?

We all know the sayings – to the victor go the spoils, history is written by the victors, might makes right – but few analysts, commentators, or so-called experts seem to truly understand them, judging by their reaction to Venezuela and the prospect of Greenland being seized by the US.

The world has always been, and always will be, governed by one basic rule – to the strongest.

The Danes once invaded the British Isles, taking as much as their strength allowed. Now the Americans are poised to do the same to their territory.

This is the way of the world, no matter how much the weak want it to be otherwise.

It is the same in the animal kingdom – the strong eats first and most, the strong mates, the strong passes on his genes. The apex predator takes what he can, limited only by other rules of nature.

Russia wants Ukraine, but the history of the region does not matter, the only thing that does is strength. Is Russia strong enough to take it, or are the Ukrainians strong enough to hold on to it?

China wants Taiwan, and again, the details do not matter, the only thing that matters is strength. And when the Chinese decide they are strong enough, they will take it, and would be stupid not to.

Considering this, we should also ask whether we are strong enough to keep what is currently ours.

We want to keep our native lands for our own people, but hostile foreign tribes covet what is ours. Are we strong enough to keep our countries? Are we strong enough to survive as a people?

And when all is said and done, the strong will judge themselves in victory, and the opinions of the weak and the vanquished will vanish into the mists of time.

History is littered with extinct nations and languages, dead kings, and fallen empires, the only question we must ask ourselves is do we want to join them, or do we want to survive and thrive? We must be strong, or we will inevitably be defeated, enslaved and wiped out.

We can choose to rule, or we will find ourselves being ruled.

To think that this fact of nature can be overcome with rules, laws, treaties, political systems or -isms, is not only naïve, is it weak and those who persist with this will be destroyed by those who aren’t so foolish.

Trump understands this. Either Venezuela is under his control, or it goes to his enemies.

Greenland, meanwhile, is just sitting there, like Napoleon’s proverbial crown in the gutter, and I hope Trump picks it up with his sword.

If the Danes want to keep it, they can fight him for it. But they won’t, they are too weak, too soft, and too scared. NATO won’t break up, because they need the US more than it needs them.

Trump has all the cards, and he knows it.

And if he does not take it, some day someone else will, most likely to the detriment of his country and his people, so take it he must.
