So Karl Stefanovic has come out and made a weak apology for “not questioning” government mandates during the Covid period, where Melbournians were subjected to the world’s longest lockdowns, and parents were pressured into injecting their children with experimental gene-vaccines.
For those unfamiliar, Karl is a household name in Australia due to his role as Today show host on breakfast TV for the past two decades, earning between $2 and $4 million a year from multi-billion-dollar media giant Nine Entertainment to read from a teleprompter every weekday morning.
This included spouting government propaganda on a daily basis for years to help uniparty politicians and unelected power-tripping bureaucrats gaslight and manipulate the population into complying with human rights-violating lockdowns, mask rules, curfews and vaccine mandates.
To be clear, Karl didn’t just “not question”, he enthusiastically supported the federal and state government lockdown and vaccine campaigns, and got paid millions for it.
He even appeared in a “This Is Out Shot” advertisement along with other over-paid Nine presenters encouraging Australians to take an untested vaccine for a disease most were not at risk from.
A massive red pill moment for Australian legacy media. π

As anyone who lived through it can attest, campaigns like these also created immense social pressure among parents, mainly mothers, to needlessly vaccinate their children.
We will likely never know the full number of vaccine-related deaths and injuries due to our flawed reporting scheme and refusal of governments to take responsibility for their actions, while the harms caused to children by lockdowns and schooling disruption are yet to fully play out.
But now that Karl is repositioning himself as a centre-right podcaster, and possibly preparing for a run at politics (while still getting paid $2.8 million a year from Nine), he’s decided to apologise, more than four years on.
Disappointingly, his belated apology of convenience is not only being accepted by large numbers of Australians, he’s being let off the hook for everything he did even though saying sorry is clearly in his own self-interest as he tries to appeal to a new right-leaning podcast audience
This audience were among the only people in Australia not to fall for the Covid propaganda, yet somehow many of them are falling for Karl’s risk-free attempts to win them over.
Too many Australians are still so desperate to be vindicated socially for their opposition to the vaccines, and still so scarred by the government propaganda campaign, that they desperately latch onto any mea culpa they can find, when they should be demanding far more.

What we should be demanding, if figures like Karl are to be forgiven, is complete transparency and accountability.
If Karl is genuinely sorry, he should “risk” (he’ll still be super wealthy if he gets fired) his Nine paycheck and confirm to the Australian public what is an open secret in his industry – that the corporate media companies were working hand in glove with the government and the social media giants to publish Covid lockdown and vaccine propaganda.
Karl, if you want us to forgive you, you must tell the Australian public everything. Blow the lid off the whole scandal.
Tell the people how Scott Morrison’s office and the health minister were in direct contact with editors and producers to make sure they towed the official line. Tell them how they hung social media regulations over your head, tell them how Big Tech influenced reporting with biased fact checks and algorithms.
Tell the people how much money the media companies made from pumping out Covid fear porn. Tell them how much you made personally.
Tell the people what happened behind the scenes to anyone in the media who challenged the government narrative or refused to get vaccinated.
Maybe you didn’t agree with it all, maybe you were just “doing your job”, maybe you felt bad when you attacked Covid and vaccine sceptics on your show for daring to speak out, if so, admit it. If not, why should be trust your judgement at all?
A little podcast apology is not enough – if you sold your soul for money and status, you need to come clean and out own it, or you’ll never live it down, and we’ll never trust or forgive you.
And even then, there are many of us, myself included, who will never be satisfied until everyone involved, from the Prime Minister and the Premiers on down, are dragged before the courts and prosecuted for their crimes against the Australian people.
