Chinese and Indian alleged drug gang smashed in Sydney – guns and $1m cash seized

Seven Chinese and Indian men have been arrested after police dismantled an alleged multi-million dollar criminal syndicate supplying drugs across Sydney.

NSW Police formed Strike Force Cloudcroft last month to investigate the supply of heroin and methylamphetamine by a specific alleged syndicate, and raided one home in Granville on Tuesday, and eight more in Hurstville, Riverwood, Revesby, and Beverly Hills on Thursday.

Officers allegedly seized 28kg of prohibited drugs, three firearms, more than 800 rounds of ammunition, more than $1 million in cash, a ballistic vest, and a large quantity of steroids, and arrested seven men aged between 26 and 68.

Of the drugs allegedly seized, there was 24.9kg of methylamphetamine and 2.9kg of heroin, with a combined potential street value of $3 million, police said on Friday.

Rusheel Raj, 26, was arrested in Granville on Tuesday and charged with 15 offences, including large commercial drug supply, multiple forearms and weapons offences, dealing with the proceeds of crime, and ammunition possession.

He was refused bail at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, and will face court again on March 23, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Jieben Su, 30, Liang Xi, 31, Weifen Su, 32, Jiarong Fang, 33, and Zhi Qiang Han, 65, were arrested on Thursday, taken to Hurstville Police Station, and charged with numerous offences including large commercial drug supply, deal with proceeds of crime, and participate in criminal group.

Another man, 68, was charged with offences including supply indictable quantity of drugs, deal with proceeds of crime.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on March 17.
