A driver has been chased down and attacked by a pack of dirt bike riders after he allegedly struck some of them at a set of traffic lights in western Sydney.
NSW Police said the driver of a Holden Cruze, 49, suffered facial injuries and a possible broken arm in the incident, which happened at a Speedway service station in Bass Hill at about 8.30pm on Friday night.
Police said the driver allegedly struck some of the riders, was allegedly assaulted at the petrol station, and then drove to a nearby shopping centre where he crashed into a fire hydrant. He then left the scene and was arrested at a home in the same suburb on Saturday morning.

He was taken to Bankstown Hospital under police guard for treatment, and a police investigation is ongoing.
Footage of the incident was shared on social media by Muslim entrepreneur and influencer Freddy Nagz, and shows the car surrounded by bikes and one rider getting off next to the car before it drives through the group.
Nagz, a reformed gang member, described the dirt bike riders as “some of the brothers”, and said they were “almost killed” and he was praying for their recovery.
“Do they have a right to be outraged for being [allegedly] run over?” he asked.
Another witness said they saw the riders in the area in the lead-up to the incident, and said they were menacing other road users.
“Honestly scared so many drivers off the road. Riding without lights, riding into oncoming traffic, circling around cars just trying to intimidate them,” they said,
“I’ve already dropped off my dash cam to Bankstown copshop. The guy shouldn’t have run them over but 100% from the way they were driving before this, they deserved it”
It is unclear whether the bikes were registered.
Intimidating behaviour from unregistered dirt bike riders has been an issue for years in western Sydney, and in January fed-up residents told A Current Affair police and councils were not doing enough.
