Australians woke up this morning to hear that immigration minister Tony Burke had granted asylum to five Iranian female soccer players, and offered refugee visas to the rest of their team, because apparently they faced persecution on return for refusing to sing their anthem.
It was a shrewd political move from Mr Burke and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who flanked conservatives (again), and took advantage of a stupid late night statement from Donald Trump to further their open borders agenda.
Labor looks good to its Muslim, immigrant and left-wing voter base, the Iranian soccer players are happy, and Trump is happy.
Millions of Iranians will also be watching and hoping they too can tug the heartstrings and be allowed in.
Everyone’s a winner, except for the Australian people, who, of course, got no say in the matter, and have been betrayed by the uniparty once again, including by conservatives who were fooled into taking up the cause of the rebel soccer team because “Iranian regime bad, Iranian people good”.
But if you’d asked the average Aussie before Israel forced the US into war with Iran whether we should take any more Iranian immigrants or “asylum seekers” like Lindt café terrorist Man Monis, they would have said no.
Most Aussies want immigration slashed, and the vast majority don’t want any more Muslims. Most don’t want any Muslims in the country period, and never have.
No one has explained how giving visas to Iranian soccer players is supposed to benefit the average Australian, who is struggling to pay rent, can’t afford a house, and is about to get smashed by petrol and food prices pushed up by the same war we have nothing to gain from but somehow find ourselves involved in.
No one has explained how these Iranian soccer players are supposed to make our country better either.
Are they going to replace Aussie players on our national team? Do we need female immigrants who are good at kicking balls around in the park? Do we want their families? Do we know anything about them or their families? Where are they going to live? Do they even speak English?
But thanks to a left-wing media, open borders fanatics like Burke and Albanese, and self-sabotaging conservatives who don’t seem to have considered any of this, we’ve opened the door to taking who knows how many more Iranians, because now a precedent has been set.
How dumb can we be?
We just had a massacre on Bondi Beach caused by importing rival sides of a foreign conflict, and now we are guaranteeing even more ethnic strife by bringing in even more foreigners from opposing sides of a Middle Eastern war.
Only our uniparty could be so stupid to see Muslims openly mourning the dead ayatollah in mosques in Sydney and Melbourne, and rival groups clashing outside the Iranian team’s Gold Coast hotel, and think, “let’s give visas to more of these people so they can fight it out on our soil instead of theirs”.
Simply put, anyone who is advocating for us to take a single Iranian refugee or immigrant does not have the best interests of Australians in mind.
White Australians are rapidly approaching minority status in our own country – in many suburbs it has already happened – and we should be remigrating Iranians back to their homeland, not taking more of them.
