An irritated local has told off a pair of immigrant workers she caught pouring paint down a drain on a suburban street in Auckland.
A video filmed by the woman shows her confronting two men with foreign accents, from a painting company that appears to be owned by an Afghan man, disposing of their paint into a drain and telling them it was “totally unacceptable”.
“Oh sorry, we didn’t know about that,” the men reply.
“That goes straight into the sea, you realise that don’t you?” the woman replied.
“Straight into the sea. Completely illegal in this country.”

The woman shared footage of the encounter to her X account where she posts as Kiwi Mum, and said she had reported the painters to council.
“He did a runner 2 minutes later! He knew exactly what he was doing. Deport!” she wrote.
The painting company told Noticer News that the paint involved was water-based and fell “mostly inside the van”, that the owner was not on site at the time, and that all his workers are trained in environmental regulations.
“A small amount did reach the curb, but it was a very limited area of the street. My painter attempted to clean it up, and there was no intention to wash paint into the drainage. All our staff are regularly trained in environmental compliance,” he said.
“An Auckland Council inspector reviewed the site and confirmed it was not a large amount of paint. Following their advice, we engaged a professional company to vacuum any residual water, and the Council has since checked and approved the cleanup.”
He also said “we deeply regret the incident, and it really do not feel good that it occurred”.
Auckland Council classifies paint as hazardous waste which cannot be disposed of in drains, while Environmental Protection Authority says on its website: “Never dispose of unused paint down household or stormwater drains.”
The confrontation comes just days after another New Zealander called out two men of Indian subcontinental appearance for throwing rubbish out of their car on the side of a pristine rural road near Auckland.

The man who filmed that video, Hugo Maclean, told Noticer News illegal dumping was becoming a massive problem in the area.
Mass immigration from third world countries has also caused friction on beaches near Auckland, with the government recently banning seafood collection from a huge swath of coastline in response to mainly Chinese immigrants stripping rock pools of marine life to cook and eat.
The ban came after fed-up locals organised a protest against the immigrant pillagers, dubbed “bucket people”, who were arriving by the busload and “taking everything that lives”.
