Disgusted patriots walk out of anti-government corruption rallies

Angry patriots walked out of anti-government corruption demonstrations on Saturday after organisers and speakers defended mass immigration and downplayed the burning of the Australian flag.

The protests were much smaller than the similar March for Australia rallies held on August 31, with the largest crowds seen in Sydney where NSW Police said 6,000 marched through the CBD to Hyde Park, while 1,000 attended an anti-fascist rally organised by an aboriginal group.

Australia Unites Against Government Corruption rally attendees were outnumbered by left-wing extremist counter-protesters in Melbourne, where huge numbers of police were deployed to keep the opposing groups apart.

The far-left mob chanted “Nazi scum” and repeatedly tried to attack the anti-government protesters, even though the National Socialist Network did not attend.

But many who turned up to the anti-government corruption protests expecting it to be about stopping mass immigration like the March for Australia rallies said they were disappointed by statements made by organisers, and there were mass walkouts during speeches.

In Melbourne protesters were furious that speakers acknowledged so-called Camp Sovereignty where the NSN allegedly clashed with antifa on August 31, and in Brisbane organiser Tristan “Triccy” Van Rye was booed repeatedly while speaking for more than 35 minutes.

Video filmed by YouTuber Chris Booy shows the Brisbane crowd go silent while Van Rye criticised the March for Australia rallies for focusing on mass immigration, and accused the main national organisers of being racists, White supremacists, and neo-Nazis.

He then tried to dismiss the burning of the Australian flag at a pro-Palestine rally in Melbourne, claiming it was carried out by a White guy, and suggested it was a set-up to promote division.

“Think about it guys, would a pro-Palestinian movement guy burn the Australian flag? Or would they burn the Israeli flag?” he asked.

Moments later the crowd started chanting “Aussie Aussie Aussie” while some shouted “fuck Islam” and “get off the stage”.

“If you’re going to be racist and say ‘fuck off Islam’ this place isn’t for you brother,” Van Rye responded.

The video then shows the crowd heckling as Van Rye continued to tell the crowd that immigration is not a problem, and large numbers of people leaving.

The flag comments sparked outrage from political commentator Chris “Big Chocky” Katelaris, who was hosted by fellow rally promoter Joel Jammal in his podcast studio to livestream the demonstrations.

“You can’t downplay burning our flag,” Katelaris said.

Livestreams also showed speakers being heckled in Sydney and Melbourne for talking about voting and avoiding the issue of mass-immigration.

“This ‘march’ or rally or whatever it was supposed to be was an embarrassment. Nobody showed up, it was run by [people] who spouted nonsense like ‘diversity is strength’,” said livestreamer Daniel Clancy about the Sydney event.

“Some lady even tried to sell her finance products. Revolting.”
