Aussies despair as rundown Adelaide house sells for $960K at auction packed with immigrants

Australians have reacted with despair after a rundown three-bedroom home in Adelaide sold for almost $1 million at an auction attended almost entirely by Indians, Asians and Muslims.

The winning bid for the home in the outer suburb of Brahma Lodge, 27km north of the city’s CBD, was $958,000, far higher than the rough outer suburb’s median house price of $647,500.

The real estate listing described the single-story house as “offering a world of potential for those seeking comfort and future development opportunities” and photos show a dated and dirty interior, including a kitchen that appears not to have been renovated in decades.

Social media users reacted to video of the auction with a mixture of anger and sadness, expressing their frustration at skyrocketing housing prices pushed up by record-high immigration, and labelling the suburb a “shithole”.

“Pauline Hanson told us this was going to happen years ago, and none of us believed her,” a TikTok user said.

“And you leftists are happy for your future kids to stand in this bidding line being outbid by people who’ve come from wealth overseas from another country to steal your future and security inflating house prices to the point you can’t afford it, zero future for your kids no matter their work ethic is what you’ve supported,” said another.

“If you think mass immigration isn’t a thing nor a problem, this is Adelaide, one of the cities least affected by it. Join the [October] 19th march.”

“Zero Aussies. I’m from Adelaide, Brahma Lodge is a shithole. 5 years ago that house would of been $280k max,” wrote a local on X.

“Great buy! Wait to import another 400,000 immigrants in 2026 and it will be $1.5m,” joked another.

“That video pretty much sums up what’s happening with housing prices in this country,” read a third comment on Elon Musk’s platform.

Net overseas migration since the end of the Covid pandemic has almost 1.4 million people – about the same as the entire population of Adelaide – pushing up housing and rental prices.

The record migration intake comes despite repeated polls showing a majority of Australians want immigration cut, sparking a March for Australia anti-immigration protest movement.

The first set of nationwide rallies on August 31 were attended by more than 100,000 people, and organisers of the second rally on October 19 are expecting a large turnout again amid simmering anger about immigration levels.
