Black-clad British patriots shut down port with anti-immigration protest

Hundreds of black-clad anti-immigration protesters have descended on Britain’s busiest port, shutting it down for hours and overwhelming police.

The anti-immigration demonstrators blocked roads in Dover on Saturday morning and chanted “England ’til I die” and “stop the boats”, a reference to illegal immigrant vessels which authorities allow to frequently cross the English Channel.

The men, wearing black balaclavas and clothing then left the area after walking through thin police lines, and some were seen catching trains out of the city. Kent Police described the demonstration as “spontaneous”, and said no arrests were made.

Some protesters said they were linked to an organisation called Patriot Platform, run by a right-wing activist named Danny Thomas, who shared footage of the incident on his Instagram channel.

“It’s time! Protect Our Country! And more importantly our women and children! This is our warning!” he wrote, with black flag and Union Jack emojis.

He also shared footage of red paint and the words “blood is on your hands” painted on the ground at the port, with the caption “enough is enough”.

Footage of the protest went viral on social media, and was shared by right-wing influencer Tommy Robinson, who encouraged his followers to join the demonstration.

“British patriots are gridlocking Dover with many more on their way. Get there to support them,” he said in one post.

The demonstration was condemned by Nigel Farage, the leader of right-wing populist party Reform UK, who called it “disgusting”.

“Nobody in any political protest, whether on the left or the right, should appear in balaclavas. It is wrong, it is horrible,” he said in a television interview.

But Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe said the protest was peaceful and that he understood people’s anger at illegal immigration.

“These are ordinary Brits who are pissed off. I agree. I’m pissed off too. It’s easy to insult and abuse these men and women. But it’s more important for politicians to understand their concerns and offer an effective route through the ballot box for them to express that,” he wrote on X.

“Nobody wants disruption to anybody’s lives, and I urge all participants in any protests to do their best to reduce that. But the Government needs to start listening. To start acting. The British people are angry. So am I.

“The boats must stop. The illegals must be deported. Mass legal immigration must be reversed.”
