Two men have allegedly been killed by women in less than 48 hours in New South Wales and Victoria.
Simon Carruthers, aged in his 50s, was found suffering critical injuries, believed to be stab wounds, at a home in Epping in Melbourne’s north at about 7.45pm on Wednesday.
He died of his injuries in hospital, and a woman known to him was on Thursday assisting homicide squad detectives with their investigation, The Herald Sun reported.
No charges have been laid.
Then at about midday on Thursday the body of Sam Singh, 81, was found in a creek on property in Teven, near Ballina on the NSW north coast. Police identified him on Saturday and said his family had requested privacy.
Elizabeth Simone Fell, 51, who police say was known to Mr Singh, was arrested at the scene and was charged with domestic violence murder.
Ms Fell faced bail court on Saturday via videolink where her lawyer said she was bipolar, autistic and has ADHD, ABC News reported.
She did not apply for bail, which was formally refused, and she will face Lismore Local Court again in late October.
None of Australia’s many “gender-based violence” campaigners have commented on either death so far.
