A mother has spoken out after taking her daughter to a children’s hospital in Sydney only to find staff pushing far-left gender ideology on kids by offering them homosexual-themed merchandise.
Celine Baumgarten, whose 18-month-old daughter Ciera is battling a rare and incurable neurological disorder, shared photos of a table set up at Westmead Children’s Hospital on Friday for “wear it purple day” – an “LGBT awareness” day aimed at young people.
The table was laid out with free “pride” flags, rainbow rubber ducks and lanyards, lapel pics, badges, stickers, leaflets promoting “transgenderism”, and a NSW Government-branded poster saying “all people, abilities, ages, cultures, languages, bodies, genders, sexualities, identities, welcome here”.
Ms Baumgarten told Noticer News she had previously seen posters from controversial taxpayer-funded homosexual group Minus18, which targets minors, put up in the hospital, and said doctors wore rainbow lanyards.
She also shared a photo of a “giant humiliation plaque” at the entrance to the hospital, next to an “acknowledgement of country” and a greeting from the “Darug people”.
The “apology to aboriginal peoples” plaque stated that when the hospital was located 25km away at Camperdown, “some aboriginal children admitted to the hospital were discharged to the care of government agencies, which meant that for many children they did not return to their families”.
“You know, by definition when you’re in a children’s hospital, you’re there because your child is sick, injured or God forbid, dying,” Ms Baumgarten said.
“The absolute last things these places should concern themselves with is gender ideology propaganda and apologising for events that transpired decades ago at a completely different location.”
Earlier this year staff at the same hospital were left without phones or internet for about 24 hours as a result of an IT failure, causing surgeries for sick kids to be postponed.
