One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has called for non-citizens to be banned from buying homes in Australia, days after demanding deportations.
The Queensland senator said on social media on Tuesday “foreigners who aren’t Australian citizens shouldn’t own Australian homes”, sparking praise from her supporters.
Ms Hanson also spoke out last week about revelations 50,000 permanent residents have been allowed to take advantage of Labor’s 5% deposit first home buyers scheme, which advertises in foreign languages including Arabic and Chinese.
“Your taxes are helping people who aren’t Australian citizens buy a first home in Australia. Not only are they pushing up home prices for everyone, they’re getting into a home that should have gone to an Australian citizen,” she wrote.
“Enough is enough. Cut off the benefits, cut migration, ban foreign ownership and start deporting.”

Ms Hanson has consistently demanded a foreign home ownership ban, and previously told parliament that while non-citizens only owned a small percentage of total homes, it still added up to about 108,000 dwellings not owned by Australians.
“For years it’s been One Nation policy to permanently ban foreign ownership of residential property. We must stop foreign ownership of housing indefinitely and give foreign owners two years to sell up so we don’t suddenly flood the market,” she said.
“If the property is not sold, it should be repossessed by the federal government. We must put Australia and Australians first.”
Foreign buyers, including temporary residents and foreign-owned companies, were already banned from purchasing existing dwellings for two years from April 1 last year, but there are exceptions for investments that significantly increase housing supply or support the availability of housing on a commercial scale.
Ms Hanson’s statement generated a positive reaction among Australians on X, and many called for mass deportations and a crackdown on citizenships.
“And Australian citizens who owe their loyalties to other cultures/countries need to have their citizenships cancelled and deported,” wrote author Harris Sultan.
“Stop handing out citizenships especially if they’re not Australia first. No dual citizenships, you are either all in or not at all, live in the country you defend,” said another popular comment.
“100%. No homes for foreigners. No farmland for foreigners. No Australian companies for foreigners. The foreign invasion must stop,” said a third X user.
