Victorian Labor and Liberal leaders slammed over ‘pride’ march: ‘Vote One Nation’

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and Opposition leader Jess Wilson are facing backlash for attending a homosexual “pride” event in Melbourne where children waved “transgender” flags.

Ms Allan shared images of herself posing with men dressed as women at the far-left government-backed event in Melbourne on Sunday, and also posted a video making the false and previously debunked claim that “‘transgender kids’ are 15 times more likely to commit suicide”.

Ms Wilson also appeared at the event with new deputy leader David Southwick, and the pair marched with a rainbow banner saying “happy pride” and “Liberal pride” and posed with a Jewish pro-LGBT group.

Mr Southwick, who is Jewish, wrote on social media: “Proudly marching at Midsumma festival with Liberal Pride and Jews of Pride.”

But everyday Aussies objected to the major party leaders’ appearances on social media, and expressed frustration that both were promoting the same LGBT agenda.

“And just like that you’ve lost me. The only conservative party left is One Nation,” one told Ms Wilson.

“Here’s a thought stop pandering to minorities and focus on the majority,” said another.

“I was all for you Jess. If this is the road you are going to travel, I’m out ,” said a third woman.

Many criticised Ms Allan for not marching with the Australian flag on Australia Day, brought up Melbourne’s cancelled January 26 parade, and for wasting taxpayer funds.

“Australia Day were you out there waving the Aussie flag?” asked one.

“How about an official Australia Day parade as well?” asked a second commenter on Facebook.

Ms Allan’s false “transgender” suicide claims also horrified community organisations and experts, The Australian reported.

The statistic she referred to is from a far-left homosexual advocacy group and not backed up by official data, and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare states on its website “rates of suicide deaths and intentional self-harm hospitalisations cannot currently be nationally reported for LGBTIQ+ people”.

Child psychiatrist Jillian Spencer called Ms Allan’s invocation of youth suicide a “dirty tactic” used to shut down discussion, while University of Queensland family law expert Patrick Parkinson said the Premer was “engaging in myths” and “ideas and statistics which have been thoroughly debunked”.

A spokesperson from advocacy group Parents of Adolescents with Gender Distress said Ms Allan’s claims were “totally manipulative”.

“It makes many of our parents really angry, too. Too many of them have heard the ‘do you want a live son or a dead daughter’ manipulation from supposed health professionals. It just doesn’t wash anymore,” she said.

“[It is] unconscionable that the Premier continues to promulgate false and misleading statistics about suicide in an effort to coerce parents into following a discredited treatment model.”
