Australians have reacted with anger to a proposal to give violent African criminals – who are driving Melbourne’s youth crime crisis – special treatment in “African courts”.
The proposal was made at a roundtable run by left-wing academics at the RMIT University’s Centre for Innovative Justice last year in response to rampant African gang and machete violence, with African youths making up 50% of those in youth detention despite being less than 1% of the population.
Victoria already has “Koori Courts” that provide “culturally appropriate sentencing” for aboriginal criminals, and far-left indigenous activists want them expanded to cover bail hearings as well, even though bail laws already force courts to take “aboriginality” into account.
The “African courts” proposal would involve “cultural restorative justice”, and roundtable participant Dr Berhan Ahmed, CEO of Africause, told the Herald Sun: “African kids need a justice process that speaks their language and involves their community.”
But the push has been slammed by other experts from the African community, and sparked outrage among everyday Australians who said the justice system should not be divided by race.
🔥RACE BASED JUSTICE SYSTEM in AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
A special court system similar to Victoria’s Koori Courts has been suggested for African offenders, with one expert saying “African kids need a justice process that speaks their language & involves their community”.

“Is Australia setting up an Indian court and a Chinese court too?” asked political commentator Lozzy B on X.
“Surely every other race will demand their own court systems now too, they already have their own separate community centres, schools and parallel societies all over Australia. And guess who is funding all of this? You are!”
Former left-wing activist Drew Pavlou, who recently declared himself a “national conservative” and supports a Singapore-style racial quota system to keep Australia 80% White, also spoke out against the idea.
“I completely reject the idea of creating an ‘African court‘ in Australia,” he said.
“This is Australia and I fundamentally reject the Balkanisation of our country. If you move to Australia, you have to assimilate. We don’t assimilate to you. You have to assimilate to us or leave.”
Former Liberal Party staffer John Macgowan wrote: “Ah yes the notably sophisticated “traditional African justice system”… A bold proposal indeed…”
“I love how it’s a de facto admission that Africans aren’t compatible with Australian society,” wrote another X user.

South Sudanese criminal lawyer Daniel Ajak told the Herald Sun he opposed the idea because African communities were not one homogenous group and could not be compared to aboriginals.
“Perhaps we can look at what worked with the early European migrants and the Vietnamese and try to learn from what work for them and what didn’t work,” he said.
African gangs and criminals are responsible for dozens of killings in recent years, with the recent alleged murders of two Sudanese boys aged 15 and 12 in Cobblebank in an alleged machete ambush reigniting a debate about African crime.
Victoria stopped releasing statistics on the nationality of offenders in 2018 as a result of a combined push between the Labor government, Victoria Police and the corporate and state media to prevent Australians from discussing the issue of African gang crime.
