Patriot left with broken ribs and spinal injuries from leftist attack during March for Australia

A patriotic protester suffered serious injuries after attacked by a bloodthirsty mob of left-wing extremist counter-protesters while walking to the March for Australia rally in Melbourne.

Dave Murphy, 56, was left with fractured ribs, spinal and facial injuries, and a concussion from the vicious and unprovoked far-left assault, which took place in the city’s CBD on Sunday morning, and spent that night in hospital.

No arrests have been made over the frenzied attack, which was caught on video, and Mr Murphy told Noticer News that when he reported the incident to police he was told they were “unlikely to find the perpetrators”.

Then on Friday Mr Murphy was visited by three detectives from Box Hill Police Station, not to ask him about the assault, but to question him about a Facebook post he had made expressing his anger about it.

Mr Murphy, who is a butcher by trade and a carer for his 86-year-old father, said he had no grudge against the police and believes frontline officers are just as frustrated by the justice system as the general public, but said the force had become “too political”.

He said he and two mates – a 60-year-old work colleague and one of his daughter’s friends from school – were on their way to join the rally on Sunday when they inadvertently found themselves faced with the crowd of left-wing extremists.

“We were walking past with the Australian flag and hear ‘Nazi!’ and the whole crowd turned in unison and yelled ‘Nazi’, then they just surged at me,” he said.

“A pink-haired girl attacked me, I was punched from every direction, dragged by my hoodie which got ripped off, lifted off the ground and had my chest crushed.

“There was no blue uniform in sight, I panicked, my mates were gone.”

Mr Murphy said he was left disoriented and bleeding, but headed back into the crowd because he believed his older friend was still there.

“I was worried and had to get back to get him out, I’m stupid but I won’t leave a mate behind,” he said.

“He turned out to be alright, and my other mate copped a few punches but he’s alright, they focussed on me because I had a black jacket on, they thought I was a Nazi even though I’m not, Nazis don’t wear Puma jackets.”

Mr Murphy said he was shocked by the level of violence, but credited some of the pro-Palestinian protesters for protecting him from the far-left group.

“The left were feral, they wanted my blood,” he said.

“A few of the Muslims punched me too but three or four of them saved my life. A bald bloke protected me a lot, he had a big sign. I do appreciate what they did for me, and the left were mad at them for protecting me.

“Police intervened at no point. I passed two police officers with my face covered in blood and my Aussie flag T-shirt ripped and they just looked at me.

“Then I went and did the march and went to emergency, but checked myself out in the morning because the hospital was overcrowded. I was still throwing up yesterday and too dizzy to drive.”

Mr Murphy said he attended the rally because he was upset at the direction the country was going and the effects of mass immigration on living standards.

“I am right-leaning, I’m definitely not a Nazi, I have friends of all races, I worked in an Italian butcher shop. My daughter got thrown out of her house and there’s nothing, everything’s been priced out,” he said.

“All I know is our country is going to hell, I’m just frustrated, I don’t know what we can do.

“I don’t hate anyone, I treat people how I want to be treated, I treat everyone with respect if they treat me with respect.”

Mr Murphy was not the only March of Australia attendee to be attacked on August 31, with video footage posted on social media showing numerous attacks on peaceful patriots by the far-left mob.

Left-wing extremists threw tins of fruit, eggs, petrol and bottles of water at patriotic protesters, ambushed several as they were returning to their vehicles, and vandalised their cars while using an aboriginal squatter camp in the Kings Domain as a base.
